"Along the way, Plan B becomes the best plan because it leads you to the children meant for you." ~ Melanie Thernstrom

I was reading our latest issue (okay, so I just subscribed about 2 months ago, but it is my second issue received) of Adoptive Families and I saw the quote above as one of the headers of an article and I couldn't agree more.  For us, we are on Plan C.  But Plan C is the best plan so far.  And we are a third of the way through the steps!

I stopped by the old stomping grounds (IVF Clinic) yesterday to drop off my unused supplies.  I figured they could find better uses for unused needles/syringes and progesterone suppositories than I could.  It was bitter sweet walking in there.  I will miss most of the contacts we have made there.  Some of them have become almost like family to us.  We saw them on a regular basis and they walked with us during our lowest lows and some of our highest highs.  They have touched our lives with their compassion and passion for their jobs.

I survived Mother's Day.  I don't really have anything nicer to say about it than that.  Let's just say that the ugly jealousy monster is alive and well on this day for myself and others in my shoes.  Once again, I found myself saying, "there is always next year."  And then I thought back to this time last year.  We were getting ready to start our first IVF cycle and I was extremely optimistic that there wouldn't have to be another "there is always next year" muttered.  Some day I won't have to mutter this again, but I know there will be someone out there who is and I hope I can be a source of encouragement and strength for her.

As I mentioned above, we are a third of the way through the adoption process!  Wow, that was fast!  But trust me, the next 6 steps aren't nearly as easy or fast as the first 3 were.  Our formal application has been approved and paid for.  Next step, not counting the training next Saturday, is the home study.

We are on the lookout for fundraising ideas.  So if you are reading this, and you have any, PLEASE let me know what they are.  We have some ideas in the works, but we would always entertain more.  I will not allow money to stand in my way of me becoming a Mommy.  I even applied for a part time job yesterday to help fund our adventure.  You have to do what you have to do. :)

I will leave you with another excerpt from a beautiful song that has touched my heart:

And in God's time
You'll finally get the chance to hold your baby girl
And all of the sudden everything will make sense in this crazy world
In God's time

Oh, but no one knows
Not you or me
It might be tomorrow or it might never be
Oh, but don't lose faith
Put it in His hands
'Cause it might be that He might have a bigger plan
Than you had in mind
Miracles happen
In God's time
