One Nervous Puppy

Well, it has been a little while since I've given an update, but that is because we have been BUSY!

About a week and a half ago, I got Depo shot number 2 and so far it has been a wonder drug.  All of the side effects I wanted, I got and I haven't had any of the ones I didn't want, yet.  Hopefully, it will stay that way!

All of our home study interviews are done!  We just have to have the home safety check once we get back in to the house.  Which means I really need to get moving on our profiles.  The short profile is done.  Most of the pictures for the long profile are set in the format in our book on shutterfly, I just need to write the captions for the photos and write the "Dear Birthmother" letter.  But, every time I think about writing it, my mind gets too active about how it needs to be perfect and how so much is riding on it that I get writers block.  I know I just need to get the rough draft done and work on tweaking it.  So hopefully after the move it will just all fall in to place.

Did you catch that?  I said after the move!!!  If everything goes to plan, we will be moving this coming weekend.  Carpet should go in tomorrow, the restoration company should be there to clean on Wednesday and Thursday, and then hopefully move our stuff in on Friday.  :)  I plan to start taking some time off of job #1 to get us settled, as Gus has been taking all of his time off to get the house ready to move back in to.  My hours have been cut at job #2, not sure why, starting this week, but it is working out perfectly with our time line for moving, so I'm not complaining too much yet.

That brings me to my title for today.  I've been packing up our hotel room and taking boxes over to the house.  The poor dog doesn't have a clue what is going on, but it is making him extremely nervous.  And to be honest, it is making me sad.  Not that I'm sad to be leaving the hotel, but now that I've taken the things that have made this room "home" for the last 10 months back to our real home, I guess I'm just sad that we had to live in a hotel room for that long.  It feels as weird as it did the first week to think that "home" was a hotel room.

We also got another large donation last week, so we are now really close to being 30% of the way to our goal!!  Once the move is over, we should have more time to work on planning the fundraiser.  We are hoping to be able to pull it off in January.

We are also starting to SLOWLY accumulate some baby things.  That cold call scenario really opened our eyes, so we decided we should have a few things on hand in case it really does happen that quickly.  I won't want to be stopping any where on our way to pick up our child to get a car seat instead of heading straight to meet him or her.  I don't plan on setting up the nursery yet, but I think it would be good to have a few things on hand.

Hopefully, the next blog update will come from our HOUSE!!!!!  :) :) :)
