We are officially in our very first IVF cycle! I started the follistim shots last night. The actual giving of the shot isn't going to be bad. Much like the Lupron shots I'm already on, but with a "pen" instead of a syringe. Once I remembered how to work it, it was a breeze. Not sure if I have any side effects yet. I'm extremely tired today, but it could be because I only got 6 hours of sleep last night. I will definitely be catching up on sleep this weekend.
I found someone to give me my shot on June 13th! I thought I was going to have to beg someone to do it. Gus is going to be gone that night, and I had originally thought I should get one of our two doctor neighbors to do it, but I don't know either of them well enough to spring that on them. I did have another person in mind, but didn't think she would want to do it. But last night at small group I brought it up and she volunteered to do it! She is diabetic, so she has some experience with needles. I was thrilled, one less worry and it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would to find someone.
Because I'm not allowed to break a sweat during this whole thing, I took Noah for our last major walk on Wednesday. I will actually miss that. I'm sure he will too, but Gus will probably take over when he can.
Only 10 more days until our 7th Anniversary! I can't believe it has been 7 years already and I can't believe what we have been through in the last 7 years. Between the biopsies and surgeries and ER visits, I think we have earned some time off of medical issues.
Injection tally is now at 64 and climbing. My photographer didn't make it home in time last night to get any pictures of the follistim shots, but hopefully we will get some this weekend.
